"I
attended a fourth day weekend in prison run by this team. I had no idea
what to expect, but as my life was in turmoil I thought it was worth a
try, and until my dying day I will never forget the generosity, sincerity,
openness, honesty, and kindness I experienced during the weekend. I was
greeted with warmth and that genuine warmth was evident throughout the
whole weekend. The only requirement made the first evening was that I
come back the next day, so I did, and this time people shared their thoughts,
feelings, food and drink with me, and the requirement was the same, come
back, so again I did, and began to reciprocate the openness, honesty,
sincerity, kindness and generosity that was shown to me, and to a degree
I found myself sharing my thoughts and feelings. It felt so natural.
My life has greatly improved since. I built some great friendships during
the weekend that I still have and mended some old bridges. Professionally
I am 3 months away from gaining a level 2 in plumbing and a level 3 NVQ
in Advice and Guidance and even though I’m still in prison I’m
very optimistic about my future and all this because a group of people
decided to take time out of their lives to show me and my peers that we
matter and the biggest compliment that I believe I can pay those who organised
the fourth day weekend is by acting like everything I do and say matters,
and while it’s not easy it’s been worth it.
They say God will not always give you what you want, but he’ll give
you what you need. I needed the fourth day weekend."

"I attended a fourth day weekend in prison
run by this team. I wasn't sure what I would find and I had just found
my God again so I was a little worried. It was one of the best weekends
of my life, the love and purest form of openness I would ever experience.
I loved it and felt good about being there. The people were different
and from all walks of life. I looked into their eyes and saw a light like
they had some secret. I listened, learnt, and asked questions as much
as I could. I was growing with God. Power was flowing through me so strong
tears would come to my eyes. I discovered working for God is the best
as it sets you free from all negativity and in a place like prison you
need that most of all."

"I attended a Fourth Day weekend in prison run by this team after
being arrested, charged and sent to HMP Brixton. My new journey was filled
with despair and my faith had been severely dented but the Fourth Day
event helped my relationship with our Heavenly Father. After lunch on
Sunday, we were taken back into the Chapel and as I saw the many forgiving
faces of assembled Christians looking at me, smiling with me, the heavy
load of guilt and shame lifted from my shoulders and tears suddenly began
to roll down my cheeks. No longer was I in despair because I knew that
the doors, which appeared closed, were now going to be opened and I embarked
on a new spiritual journey. Along the way on my spiritual path I am discovering
how to live more fully each day from the Christ within me and I continue
to make daily progress on my path of spiritual discovery and enrichment."
